Platelet Rich Fibrin Treatments

Table of Contents

In today’s world, we’re always searching for treatments and products to help us stay young and healthy. We want natural alternatives rather than expensive, invasive surgeries on our quest to regain full, youthful features. As we continue to age, we lose volume, elasticity, and collagen in our skin – most notably on our faces. This results in loose, sagging skin, wrinkles, and an overall sunken appearance. Luckily, as treatments continue to advance, we’ve started using a therapy called platelet rich fibrin (PRF) therapy to help combat the visible signs of aging.

What is Platelet Rich Fibrin?

PRF therapy is an advanced, new age version of platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatments. PRF produces stronger results than PRP because it contains more substantial concentrations of leukocytes (white blood cells), platelets, and certain stem cells not found in PRP. The leukocytes are healing in nature and work under a controlled inflammatory response to target problem areas while stem cells help regenerate new cells and platelets stimulate collagen production and rejuvenation.

Additionally, PRF releases growth factors from platelets more slowly than PRP and healing takes only a few hours instead of a few days. Simply put, PRF has stronger properties that work together to provide better, more long-lasting results. With no additives, this natural treatment is perfect for anyone looking to gain back their youth.

How Do PRF Treatments Work?

At Desert Wellness Center, we use the latest advances in medical aesthetics to help address anti-aging procedures. Our non-invasive, platelet rich fibrin treatment is carried out by an experienced physician and uses 100% natural ingredients. We love it because these ingredients come directly from our patients, so we know that they’re not receiving dangerous synthetic or artificial alternatives.

Platelet rich fibrin treatments are beneficial not only because they’re natural, but also because they actually work. The procedure is non-invasive and allows you to resume normal activities fairly quickly.

The way the PRF treatments work is simple. To begin, one of our trained, medical professionals will collect blood from you and place it in a vial. The vial is then put inside a centrifuge, which spins and causes the platelet rich fibrins to separate from the blood. The difference between PRF and PRP is that PRF uses low speed centrifugation. Using a low spin speed instead of a high spin speed means that the fibrin and other beneficial properties in your blood rise to the top, which is one of the most important aspects of PRF.

The platelet rich fibrin produced from the centrifugation is then used as an injection to help regenerate tissue. Most people see results within 1 month of their first treatment and we recommend at least 3 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. After which, you can enjoy results that may last up to 1 year.

From a cosmetic standpoint, using PRF treatments helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, shrinks pores, balances acne scarring, and even promotes hair growth. PRF is also used to help restore joints by activating stem cells to repair damaged or deteriorating cartilage.

At Desert Wellness, we’re proud to use EXPRF for our PRF treatments, a centrifuge that uses low spin speed to get optimal results.
