Kybella

Kybella is a non surgical treatment to eliminate fat under chin. The active ingredient is deoxycholic acid, a natural occurring molecule that helps the body break down fat. The solution is injected directly into the under chin fat and is broken down and eliminated through natural method. The best part is the results are PERMANENT. It is FDA approved and has published research behind it. (known as ATX-101 when researched)

The Kybella Treatment:

First the area under the chin is numbed with topical numbing cream. The area of fullness is then identified and marked with a specialized grid to ensure proper injection placement and effective treatment. From there the area is cleaned and the injections are completed in about 5 minutes. Ice is then applied to minimize any post procedure pain.

After the Kybella Treatment:

A typical treatment results in swelling that may be significant so ideally it is performed where you have the ability for 24-48 hours of down time. This swelling is an important part of the process and is eased with over the counter medications if needed. Many find the swelling is only noticeable to them and close family or friends. Most swelling is gone in 2 weeks.

Kybella treatment plans:

Treatment plans are customized but likely 2-4 sessions will be necessary to achieve the desired outcome. Even with multiple treatments it is less than plastic surgery and without the downtime. Liposuction of the area is the typical surgical approach and costs between $3000-$5000 and requires a chin strap to be worn full time for 2 weeks.
